Tips for making the most of RXC

23 May 17

The second annual RXC, the Report Exec Convention, is rapidly approaching! This year’s event is taking place on June 5th and 6th at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Here’s some tips for making the most of your RXC experience.

Utilize one of Milwaukee’s many transit options

Once you arrive in Milwaukee, you have many different options to get from General Mitchell International Airport to Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. Three of the most popular ways include requesting a taxi, Uber, or Lyft. In order to request an Uber or Lyft, you must download their apps to your mobile device, and we encourage you to do so before you leave for RXC. Should you want to explore the city after the convention concludes for the day (we encourage it!), Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is located just a few minutes southwest of Downtown Milwaukee, so taking an Uber or Lyft to one of the city’s many downtown restaurants or attractions is quick and easy.

Dress for the Weather

Be sure to check the weather forecast a few days before you leave for Milwaukee because the temperature can change in a matter of minutes thanks to Lake Michigan. If the lake breeze kicks in, temperatures can drop down over ten degrees or more, so we recommend that you bring a sweatshirt or jacket in your luggage for RXC. It might also come in handy for the boat cruise on Sunday, June 4th, as we will be venturing out into the cooler waters of Lake Michigan.

Bring a Laptop and Mobile Device

During RXC, attendees will have the chance to participate in hands-on training sessions and get the chance to try out the latest version of the Blert! and Report Exec Mobile apps. In order to make the most of these sessions, please bring a laptop and a mobile device with the Blert! and Report Exec Mobile apps pre-installed. Laptops and mobile devices will also be helpful for taking notes throughout the entire duration of the convention.

Ask any and all questions!

RXC is the perfect opportunity for you to ask any and all questions you may have about Report Exec. During the entire duration of the conversation, our trainers will be available for you to ask them questions regarding anything about the Report Exec program on a personal, one-to-one basis. Additionally, be sure to make the most of the roundtable discussions by contributing to the discussion and asking questions. Sharing your best practices with other users or asking them questions about how they use the program at their respective institutions will benefit everyone. We want to make sure that everyone goes home with all of their Report Exec questions answered.

Venture out into the city

After the events for the day conclude, we encourage you to explore our hometown of Milwaukee. Conde Nast Traveler named Milwaukee one of “Six U.S. Cities to Watch in 2017,” thanks in part to everything our city has to offer. During your stay at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, you can take advantage of their 2,500+ slots, nearly 100 table games, 20 poker tables, bingo hall, off track betting, and eight bars and restaurants. When you want to venture off-site, there are many thing that you can do close by. The Milwaukee Brewers are in town during RXC and take on the San Francisco Giants at Miller Park, which is located just west of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. Directly east of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is the Walker’s Point neighborhood, home to the Harley-Davidson Museum and some of Milwaukee’s newest and most-unique restaurants and microbreweries. The nearby Third Ward neighborhood is Milwaukee’s warehouse district and home to the Milwaukee Public Market, shops, boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries.

From there, you can venture north into downtown via the RiverWalk, which meanders along the Milwaukee River; or by riding a blue Bublr bike, part of Milwaukee’s large bikeshare network. Downtown is home to hundreds of restaurants and bars that are sure to please your taste buds. Downtown Dining Week is taking place during RXC; you can learn more about that event here. Lastly, don’t forget to check out our lakefront, home to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Discovery World Museum, Henry Maier Festival Park, Lakeshore State Park, many acres of parkland, and numerous trails for biking and walking. In your RXC materials packet, you will receive a map of downtown, along with a Milwaukee Experience Card with discounts to local restaurants and attractions, courtesy of VISIT Milwaukee.
